132KV Cables Malta to Gozo via Comino - Energy, Waste, Utilities

Following accidental damage by a ship’s anchor, the cross-channel cable between Malta and Gozo needed replacement.  This time, parts of the cables were to be located in critical areas and needed therefore to be placed in trenches on the seabed. Polidano engineers devised a system whereby a trencher was converted and then operated under water by divers. This solution proved highly cost effective and works were successfully completed within the prescribed timeframes.
