Hospitality & Leisure

Polidano diversified into the hospitality, tourism and leisure industry over 15 years ago.  We view our entry into this market as a natural extension of our role as a lead construction firm in many of Malta’s landmarks in leisure and lifestyle development.  We have been involved also in numerous public works aimed at upgrading of the Islands’ tourism infrastructure.  Hospitality and leisure is therefore a sector we know intimately.  Our portfolio today includes a number of investments in ventures which we wholly own or manage or in which we are partners.

Our interests

With a proven track record in delivering high-end lifestyle properties, Polidano has attracted leading international names in the five-star, deluxe hotel and resort sector as partners.

We developed, constructed and invested in the Westin Dragonara Resort and Le Meridien St Julian’s Hotel and Spa which are located in Malta’s prime destination - St Julian’s.  Both are noted for their innovative design, impeccable attention to quality and detail throughout and their high standards of service.  These hotels – which are both managed by Starwood - have consistently won high acclaim, particularly from corporate travel and hospitality clientele.

We own and manage several other hotels across the Islands including an apart-hotel, a four-star hotel and spa, and a lifestyle day-resort beach.  We were among the first to see the potential in diversifying Malta’s leisure market by developing in more outlying regions to the north and south.  Polidano pioneered quality hotel accommodation in Malta and was among the first to invest in upgrading the Islands’ leading hotels sector.

Polidano has developed also a new hospitality offer in Malta with Montekristo Estates.  This concept development uniquely combines a wine estate, olive grove and chateau to provide the setting for an eclectic range of visitor attractions, hospitality venues and cultural activities.   Opened four years ago, Montekristo gives individuals, groups and tour and destination management operators immense scope and flexibility in the hosting of events and in devising innovative hospitality programmes.
